The Global Video Gaming Association (GVGA) is a new and unique competitive video gaming league that hosts video game competitions with intentions of finding the best players in the world for the specific video game being played.  The GVGA recognizes video game playing as a competitive sport that has talented performers and seeks to find “virtual athletic excellence” through competitive gaming, searching for the best amateur gamers with intentions of turning them into GVGA Professionals.  All amateur competitions are structured as tournaments where the winner of one competition advances to play the winner of another until the champion is announced.  The GVGA awards a predetermined cash prize to the champion depending on the number of participants in the tournament and/or tournament sponsorship money.

The GVGA has an amateur division and a professional division.  The amateur division accepts entry from all interested gamers, charges an entrance fee, and awards a predetermined cash prize to the champion.  The purpose of the amateur division of the GVGA is to find new talent that has the personality and skill to become a GVGA professional and to constantly stay in front of gamers to build and eventually sustain the league’s popularity.   The professional division is the component of the GVGA that sets it apart from all other video gaming leagues.  The GVGA’s professional division is focused on entertainment and entertaining spectators that view the competitive matches.  The GVGA turns professional gamers into “gaming personalities” by creating entertaining content centered on the talent of the gamer and their personality.  The professional division of the GVGA aims to provide entertaining matches for spectators.
